I didn't download the PDF but I didn't find the words "Market Share" anywhere in the linked article. Market share = virus share is a FUD reason that Microsoft has pumped out into the media and many of you guys have eaten it up. I don't believe that market share is a significant factor in the malware problems in the Microsoft Operating systems. Much of the problem *is* because of the lack of basic security features that other operating systems incorporate in a way that isn't too cumbersome on the user.

At the very least I think you market share guys have twisted the article into something that it isn't, unless it's in the 6 page report that you have to register to get which I won't do. Please forgive me if you have read the 6 page PDF and it does mention market share as a major factor. :) Of course I will disagree with that report if it makes such a claim.

Of course it can't be known for sure whether either of our opinions are correct unless the market share changes significantly in another direction and the malware problem follows right along with all it's might. I for one would like to see the world perform that analysis (major shift in market share).
