Source code or not, there is no REAL future for third party patches as the majority of organizations will NOT trust a third party. Then, if you do choose to implement such a patch (or even the Microsoft recommended work arounds) you have the problem of rolling back the third party patch or the work arounds before being able to apply the official patch! The whole process is convoluted and third party patches just add to the mess.
