I'm not sure exactly what you mean when you say the Blizzard executable can do "anything" on your machine. I don't run windows as a priviledged user. I've taken care to isolate what regular users can and cannot access on my PC just for cases like this. If its running as a process under my profile then the worst it could do is muck up the files i have access to.
