Securing BIOS... 2006-11-19

Ever OS and sofwares houses talk about security, but rarely you can hear hardware vendors talking about the same.

IMHO, they think that don't need to care about this, just waiting for the first (? who remeber those virus that destroy BIOS ) hardware-virus.

Like Linux (and Vista from now) must be security layers in BIOS and hardware, not one simple BIOS/system password.

Obviou this can difficulty drivers development, especualy on Open Source projects like Linux, but is necessary.

Just one more question:

And IF, just IF this virus becomes "regulary"?

BIOS's patches and firmwares being release by all vendors without sucess in to break this new age of virus?

From one day to another you will need to change all your hardware because is not a "virus safe" hardware?

Fellows, this is a serious question.
