But the russians are motivated for profit. The russian mafia is not backed by their government like the chinese. The russians want personal info. for ID theft, ATM card numbers, bank accounts. etc.. chinese hackers want to steal U.S. techology and related info. and are backed by their govt. Remember "the lion" from the 2001 cyber wars ? He is chinese military and is still very active in organized govt backed hacking (despite their cute little PR saying they disbanded in 05). US independent hackers beat the chinese in 2001 after they declared cyber war against the US. Now they are back and more organized.
