Stories like this are an example of why New York has lost it's status to London is the centre of the financial universe, and european cities are attracting more academics and researchers than american ones. The irony that US border security has prevented their citizens from being trained in new security techniques, which would vastly improve their national security, is pitiful and perhaps a grim indication of a state in decline.
