*nix is vastly superior to Microsoft Windows, when it comes to security. Number 1 on the list, is that there are no active viruses that can attack linux, where Microsoft essentially has no immune system, except to install 3rd party spyware called "Anti-virus programs". Who protects the user from the anti-virus software writers? What assures you that they are not corruptable? Trust them? Yeah, thats the way I like to protect national security secrets....... trust anonymous underpaid programmers with mortgage and gambling debts.

Continued use of Microsoft Windows, in information sensitive situations, borders on negligence, and certainly is incompetant.

I believe that US nuclear subs use Solaris, and won't even allow personal computers running Microsoft windows onboard. Makes sense to me, and I bet they don't get hacked.
