I'm sorry, but your experience is not similar as you have told it. This lad communicated to several students anonymously with their personal info. The students' response was obvious alarm and concern about what it might mean to them. This hacker was unethical in causing the alarm and publicly embarrassing the university. I'm glad he was charged.

White hat hacking is the way to go. This situation was at best a dark grey.
