Most of the liberal media including Kelly Martin, the author of this article, have gotten this story wrong from the start. The President only authorized warrantless surveillance on those with a terrorist connection that are communicating internationally. Surveillance of non-terrorists and entirely domestic surveillance would need a warrant as usual.

For me, the question that remains is, what powers does this Presidential order give us that existing laws don't. For example, are there not existing emergency provisions for surveillance that cannot wait for a warrant?
