Hogwash. IMHO, the 5-week extension is deliberately designed to prevent debate. It doesn't leave sufficient time to have a proper debate, especially considering that there will be other pressing business.
The House 5 week extension was done in the face of the 6 month extension already approved by the Senate, so one can pretty much only conclude that it's a partisan Rush to Power.
