On Robert Graham's comment this is a government conspiracy to gain control over the power grid... uhm. Why don't we just put it out in those terms because that is what he is saying. (If he is realistic maybe he is arguing they just want, what, something to do? Funding? NSA to take more control of businesses?)
Hey, maybe there is some validity to that. Maybe they would make up scare stories. I just don't find it plausible. Whether or not China and Russia were involved, maybe they could be wrong on that. But, it is not as plausible that they didn't really find something. And it is highly implausible they planted something to justify, what, code audits and firewalls?
We know the grid is bad and don't need this, so why would they do that? It might help secure the infrastructure, but it is already well known these systems are insecure and hackers overseas have messed with power systems.
Why shouldn't the government police this? They police the streets. Why not water treatment plants and power grids? Maybe the NSA is the wrong agency to do this, but that is another issue and I do not see how this issue is agency specific.
