The really sad thing about all of this is that in an increasingly global economy, this is going to kill the economy of Iran (worst then it already is). Why would a company establish an online presence in the country for fear that this firewall may one day cut off all communication? SSH is a pretty important protocol to a lot of companies (which of course can be used to tunnel traffic, which is why I am sure they did it). The reality of this is... The people should be upset, the younger generation in their country understands what is going on. Their leader is holding back their economy. There are a lot of smart people in Iran, it is time to let them join the rest of the world.
