Steganography pronounced Steg-Uh-Nog-Ruh-Fee, is the art of ensconcing information meant to be secret. Unlike cryptography, steganography makes an attempt to conceal the information in plain sight. Instead of creating an incredibly new and annoying encryption algorithm, steganographers will keep the original message intact, however, hidden from the unsuspecting eye.

Using ADS (Alternate Data Stream) is not really a Steganography, since it just puting some data BESIDE the file (whether it is unseen by default)... Pushing some data INTO the carrier is the real stuff: immagine an mp3 or a jpeg where the real content stores the data. The space for the data is not much (1-5% without significan quality loss), but quite enough for some importantr data.
