Sr. Security Engineer (518) Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Must be clearable to the Top Secret level. Provide consulting services to include but not be limited to security operations, risk assessments, incident response, and security awareness and information security vulnerabilities. Responsible for developing operational support procedures for cyber security within the enterprise. This person will not be hands on operating and maintaining security devices but will be integral in reviewing system configurations for network security devices, performing and recommending security hardening, reviewing access controls, evaluating and recommending security technologies/devices, etc. 1. Conduct/review vulnerability assessments on various types of networks and topologies; 2. Analyze output from network vulnerability assessments and recommend mitigation strategies; 3. Review and provide feedback on security plans, architectures and procedures regarding all aspects of LAN, WAN or MANs, as applicable; 4. Assist in designing, establishing and configuring security products to include firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus, patch management, etc.; 5. Review and provide input into network designs to ensure compliance with security and enterprise architecture; 6. Provide input into the configuration and operation of devices and configurations of similar within a Security Operations Center and/or Data Center 7. Participate in review of pending security policy technical standards 8. Review logs from devices and make recommendations for risk mitigation; and 9. Provide input and visibility into emerging security technologies, deployment strategies and other security protocols to ensure awareness within the OIT. 10. Build/enhance security architecture and configure network to enhance the security posture of the enterprise 11. Participate in Change Control Boards and provide input regarding proposed Requests for Change |
| Job Requirements: | Requires 2 years of related security experience with a BS degree preferred. If candidate does not possess a degree then must possess 4 years experience. It is preferred that this person be a current Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), CISA or similar security professional certification. Should possess experience with most of the following but not all are necessary: firewalls, IDS, security hardening, systems configurations, network device configurations, access controls. A substantive background in either Microsoft operating environments, Cisco networking, or UNIX administration is preferred. |
