| Job Description: |
The Walgreen IT Security Department ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of computer systems, data, and network resources. Walgreen IT Security is responsible for creating a secure computing environment through the implementation of security standards for systems and applications, as well as security policies and guidelines. Walgreens IT Security Department includes the Security Incident Response Team (SIRT). SIRT coordinates the defense against and response to potential or realized cyber attacks across the Walgreens enterprise to minimize threat of damage resulting from intrusions. SIRT is responsible for working primarily with Employee Relations, Legal, and Loss prevention and various technology teams on incident response and computer system forensic cases. The SIRT team utilizes technologies such as Intrusion Detection, Firewalls, log correlation, antivirus, data leakage tools, and computer forensic tools to provide facts and minimize the impact of incidents. Monitor and review intrusion detection system, firewall logs, and enterprise log management systems. Review and perform incident response and computer system and virus related forensic investigations. Review and perform network and host based vulnerability scans and penetration tests. Review and modify security policies for intrusion detection systems, antivirus, and forensic/data leakage tools. Work with all areas of the company (in particular, IT, Employee Relations, Legal, and Loss Prevention Departments) to resolve issues related to incident response and computer system forensic cases. |
| Job Requirements: |
Desired position requires two or more years of hands on experience in MOST of the following: - Working with network protocols (TCP/IP), sniffers, networking applications/services & understanding network security issues - Performing network scanning and penetration testing including policy creation and analysis of results. - Working with Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems, firewalls, and routers including policy/ACL creation/review and log review. - Administrating Unix, Linux and Windows 2000/XP/2003 and understanding host level security issues. - Identifying, analyzing and mitigating Security Vulnerabilities & Weaknesses (malicious code, implementation flaws, etc.). - Writing security assessments and incident reports. - Performing computer forensics utilizing current technologies and theories. - Programming / scripting / automation (log analysis scripts, regular expressions, etc.) - Position requires on-call coverage for evenings, weekends, and holidays. - Professional, team-oriented, self-motivated individual. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to work on multiple assignments. |
