IT Security Officer www.informationsecuritysolutions.com/jobs/ref435 Reference No. sf-435 Company Business & Technology Consultancy Location Surrey Salary £36,000 - £40,000 Package Competitive benefits package Start Date ASAP No. Required 1 The Role An IT Security Officer is required to assume day to day responsibility for routine and investigative auditing and assurance of internal IT operations and compliance with network security policies. The position will report to the IT Security Manager and work closely with Security and IT operations staff. The incumbent will operate IT protective monitoring and IT auditing tools, conduct initial assessment of reports and contribute to follow-on action. They will help promote a high standard of administrator and user IT security disciplines. Interested in evolving IT security capabilities, the incumbent will have an opportunity to influence the development of IT operations and infrastructure. Experience required: Practice in an IT security operation function in a corporate or government environment. Involvement with modern IT networks, protection capabilities and related security disciplines. Understanding of access control, authentication and other best practice measures. Familiarity with CESG operating standards and/or experience of Government information security procedures would be an advantage. Qualifications: Evidence of appropriate professional training and practical background Personal Qualities: Ability to work under own initiative and achieve results in tight timescales. Good communication skills and affinity with both users and IT providers. Highly competent IT user. Appetite to support new IT developments and evolution of associated security operations. |
