We’re looking for an energetic and experienced Threat Operations Manager for a team of computer malware and spam analysts located in Vancouver, BC. The ideal candidate will have a background in malware analysis including reverse engineering skills, web and e-mail security, as well as ability to organize daily workflow, set team objectives and manage priorities. The successful candidate must possess a strong interest in the computer security industry and has an ability to lead a team As a Threat Operations Manager you’ll have responsibility for SophosLabs threat research operations in the region, ensuring timely protection available to our customers. Core responsibilities: • Plan, drive and track the processing of malware and spam samples and customer requests • Develop protection for malware and spam threats. • Decide appropriate resourcing for workload including personnel, hardware and software • Conduct reviews with individuals and analyse trends to ensure that analysis and requests are completed within agreed timescales and to the required quality. • Work with peers within the department to plan changes and coordinate technical and system requirements and work plans. • Set standards for the team and informally monitor on a daily basis to ensure consistent adherence across the department. • Ensure Sophos and SophosLabs standards/guidelines are adhered to and provide input into their improvement. • Represent SophosLabs at inter departmental project meetings escalating issues outside of immediate team scope. |
| Job Requirements: |
Experience and Skills Essential: • Team management or leadership experience • Strong knowledge of internet protocols, operating systems and computer architectures • Experience in using IDA or other reverse engineering tools • Malware analysis experience • Development of malware detection and cleanup code • Understanding of programming languages • Persuading, influencing and motivating others • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Strong problem solving skills Desirable: • Anti-spam experience • Vulnerability research • Programming experience • Technical writing • Computer Science Degree |
