| Job Description: |
The Security Engineer is responsible for the protection of the firms physical and non-physical Information Technology assets using various tools. This includes, but is not limited to network equipment, firewalls, IDS etc. Main duties include designing, implementing and maintaining security event logs, logs aggregation, logs correlation etc. for network appliances, multiple flavors of operating systems and databases. Ensuring that all systems are safeguarded against all forms of malicious intrusions; assisting other groups within the firm in developing secure systems. Principal Responsibilities Evaluate network architecture and hardware/software configurations for security vulnerabilities. Perform vulnerabilities assessments to identify both architectural and platform-specific vulnerabilities Day-to-day administer Network Intelligence envision product suite and provide support to analyze Firewall logs, network devices logs, host based logs (syslog, windows event logs), database/application logs etc. Participate in design reviews, developing Key Performance Indicators for logging architecture. Assists project teams during system design with the drafting logical architectural models with a focus on establishing appropriate process. Assists in designing interface and conversion needs for data and process to enhance existing systems or develop new ones. Participate in organizations Threat & Vulnerability Assessment process and Incident Response Process. Conduct periodic network/application penetration tests, using either in-house or outside resources. Review security audits and bring awareness to security problems and issues; improve security settings of network devices, create baseline configuration standards for various platforms. Keep abreast of emerging security technologies and make appropriate recommendations regarding their implementation. |
| Job Requirements: |
Experience Seven or more years of experience in technical information systems positions, with at least three years experience in a pure information security position (log analyzing, log aggregation, log correlation engineer.) CISSP or similar information security certification Experience with information security policies, incident response procedures, risk analysis, and significant experience administering the operations of a complex security infrastructure. Knowledge and Skills Required In-depth understanding of IP networking, networking protocols and security-related technologies. These include network(s), firewalls, DNS, Unix/Windows logs, numerous Log analyzing tools. Extensive knowledge with Network Intelligence Envision is a must. Knowledge of Microsoft SQL is a must. MCSE or similar Microsoft certification is a plus. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting & interpersonal skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Good knowledge of network technologies (CCNA certification is a plus) Knowledge of vulnerability scanner e.g. Nessus/Foundstone etc. a plus Education, Training &/or Certification Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or related experience preferred |
