Infocus articles

SecurityFocus is looking for the best technical articles from the community. Infocus articles are technical articles written by members of the security community, and provide broad exposure to the largest audience of security professionals on the Internet. In addition to becoming instantly famous, publication of your research, technical work, installation guide or security HOWTO will benefit the community as a whole. Articles are published because of their outstanding merit or high level of technical detail, and sometimes cover topical technologies making news headlines. Articles are intended to help readers secure their systems and networks.

Interested in writing a technical paper for SecurityFocus? Start with an article idea, and send it to one of our editors for feedback. Generally this will be followed by a one-page outline that indicates how you'll write the article, along with an indication of the timeline required to write the article.

Published articles require one month exclusivity on SecurityFocus and "reprint" rights in perpetuity; author may retain copyright. Contact the editorial team for more details, and submit your article idea today!

If the article is already written, it may also be submitted to our editorial team for consideration.

Articles are typically 2000 to 2500 words in length and cover a topic that has not been previously discussed on SecurityFocus, where there are new developments in the field, or cover something topical and making headlines in the news. All articles are highly relevant to security and do not necessarily need to fit into preexisting categories. Submissions are preferred in the form of text+images, simple HTML, or Word-compatible documents. PDFs are not accepted.

Best regards,

SecurityFocus staff
