A classic example of the web of trust. You have to have identified
yourself to someone who is already "in" via some other means. Some
people won't be able to get on the list, but oh well.

Ideally, there would be some kind of "trust" ladder. Perhaps certain
category of emails would only go to people who have earned a certain
level of trust.

That's not doable with existing mailing list technology, I know. But it
sure would be nice.
