The Social Security numbers and financial information of nearly 2,000
Riverside city employees were inadvertently sent throughout City Hall's
e-mail system.

The information was intended for the city's payroll department but was
e-mailed to roughly 2,300 city employees.

Steve Reneker, Chief Information Officer for the City of Riverside,
confirmed to KABC the messages were sent due to a computer operator's error.

Reneker says the data included employees' Social Security numbers and
financial information for 401 (k) and other accounts.
