Linux Kernel 64 Bit PTrace Segment Base Address Local Denial Of Service Vulnerability
The Linux kernel is reported prone to a local denial-of-service vulnerability because it fails to properly samitize memory addresses passed to 'ptrace()'. This issue occurs only on the amd64 platform, where a local attacker may be able to leverage the issue to crash the kernel. A successful attack will deny service for legitimate users. |
