Apple Mac OS X Shared_Region_Map_File_NP System Call Memory Corruption Vulnerability

Apple Mac OS X is prone to a memory-corruption vulnerability. This issue occurs when the OS fails to properly bounds-check parameter values to the 'shared_region_map_file_np()' kernel function call, which handles memory allocation.

As a result, all available memory resources will be consumed, ultimately causing a denial-of-service condition to legitimate users.

Mac OS X 10.4.8 and prior are vulnerable to this issue.
