Joomla! Administration Module Multiple Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerabilities

Joomla! is prone to multiple cross-site scripting vulnerabilities because the application fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input before using it in dynamically generated content.

An attacker may leverage this issue to execute arbitrary script code in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site. This may help the attacker steal cookie-based authentication credentials and launch other attacks.

These issues affect Joomla! 1.0.12; other versions may also be affected.

For an exploit to succeed, the victim must be authenticated with administrator privileges. Successful attacks can cause malicious code to be persistently injected into active sections of a vulnerable website.
