Solaris Cachefs Patch Unexpected Security Weakness

Sun has announced that some patches designed to fix Cachefs vulnerabilities may in fact present a new security weakness. The problem is said to cause varous sections of the local inetd.conf file to be overwritten. This could potentially result in unwanted services unexpectedly running.

This issue applies to fixes released in response to the vulnerabilities described in BID 4631, 4634, 4674.
