R Programming Language CVE-2016-8714 Buffer Overflow Vulnerability

R Programming Language is prone to a buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to adequately bounds-check user-supplied data before copying it to an insufficiently sized memory buffer.

Attackers can exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code in the context of the affected application. Failed exploit attempts will result in denial-of-service conditions.

R programming language version 3.3.0 and 3.3.2 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
