Logicubes versus Image Massters 2004-11-22
Robert Goto (rgoto socal rr com)
Anyone care to share their experiences/opinions? I've used both but would
like to hear from others about the newer models. In particular I would like
to know about how they stack against each other when it comes to
a. Speed--actually encountered in the field versus advertised.
b. Drive detection

You'd probably be better off creating an ISO filesystem
containing your image file (or image file segment), and
then burning that to disc.

Take a look at the manpage for mkisofs (8).

File System control is in the Registry:
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem

This particular value is:
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem\NtfsDisableLastAccessUp
date
REG_DWORD

You can also use FSutil to make this change and many of the NTFS and FAT
FileSystem tasks.

I'd be willing to bet you have a virus that creates it's own random file
name. I run into this more often than I care to!

My quickest solution:
1) Take the hard drive out and connect as a slave to another computer.
2) Go to Trendmicro.com and run their free virus scan.

Prefetch files are essentially a resource list. Any time a program is executed, Windows XP will attempt to find a pre-existing prefetch file, and if it's available, it will use it to make the application load up faster. The file will also be updated after it is

Floppy diskettes - a few questions 2004-11-16
Michael Edwards (medwards digital-legal com) (1 replies)
Greetings all -

I'm investigating a few Windows floppies. The floppies were reported as
having gotten too close to a magnet.

This does not appear to be the case, but I'm trying to work out a few things.

Firstly, one of the floppies has no Volume Boot Record, or FATs. It just
showed up as unallo

Ok, I have a machine that has this program running under any user that
logs into the machine.
This process spawns anywhere from 1- 10 times, and uses up to 60% of the
Processor...
Antivirus found nothing(on the machine and from a web version), Spybot
found nothing,
And all web searches prove useless
