Firewalls the libdnet way 2004-04-14
Romulo Valdez (cmllpz acedsl com)
I will need to design firewalls for both *BSD and Linux based systems and
was thinking about learning how to do that using the firewall capabilites
included in the libdnet package, so I don't have to be learning two
different ways to basically do the same thing. Once the same functionality
it is in

Does anyone have www.packetfactory.net/libnet/index.html cached
anywhere by any chance? I just blew it away by accident. On the bright
side though, I just finished www.packetfactory.net/libnet/docs!

I'm trying to compile a simple program under cygwin. the source code
only contain the libnet_init fuction. the problem is at linking time.
it seems that it cannot resolve the errno variable even if it is defined
in libc.a

anyone with the same problem ?

gcc zz.c -o zz -lnet -lwpcap -liphlpapi -l

Hi Mike,

It seems the following "strdup" is a memory leak

libnet-1.1.2:

[libnet_if_addr.c]

239 if ((al->device = strdup(device)) == NULL)
240 {
241 snprintf(errbuf, LIBNET_ERRBUF_SIZE,

Cross configuration and compilation 2004-04-02
Rajesh Tripathi (rbtripathi yahoo com)

Hi,

I'm trying to build libnet for a mips target running

linux. The linux host already has a cross compiler.

The target kernel sources are in

/home/rajesh/sibyte/systemsw/linux/src/kernel

Here is the screen dump.

./configure --host mips-linux --prefix

/home/rajesh/sibyte/systems

next day everything gets overwritten. It's all back the way it should
be now.

Hrm, it seems as though my web hosting buddy reloaded the webpage from
a backup. I'll set things right here in a bit, with a new libnet,
1.1.2.1 which fixes the ICMP typo I made in 1.1.2.
