[X] No, dont use C99 as it is not supported by oldest compilers

(VisualC6 for instance)

Please note also the Microsoft runtime has an _snprintf (not C99

conformant; check MSDN for details), which is also aliased to snprintf in

MinGW GCC (though a C99-conformant snprintf is being plan

Hello *,

I was working on RAW6 injection mode and had a bad surprise :( Whereas
is seems to work fine on Linux 2.6, I read the following in ip6(6) of
my Mac OS X :

Another difference from IPv4 raw sockets is that complete packets(that
is, IPv6 packets with extension headers) cannot be r

lightweight scan strategy - libnet? 2005-02-09
David Wuertele (dave-gnus bfnet com) (1 replies)
I've got an embedded system on which I want to host a very lightweight
and fast SMB scanner. This scanner will need to ping a large number
(hundreds, potentially thousands) of IP addresses, and for each host
that replies it will try connecting to port 139, just to see if it is
open. That's all thi

C99 ? 2005-02-08

Hello all,

A new NG version will be released soon with almost all the protocols
supported. We are also working on the win32 compatibility. So, things
are going on :)

However, I'd like to know your opinions about the C99 norm: should we
use some C99 features or not in libnet:

[ ] Yes, use C99

A couple weeks ago, I posted here with problems sending packets via
LIBNET_LINk when they worked with LIBNET_RAW4. Last I posted, I thought I
had resolved the problem by using the libnet_ethernet_autobuild function;
however, it turns out that it was only working in a situation that I

Protocol support todo 2005-01-20

Stupid question:

Is there a protocol support todo list? I know people could do every one
under the sun (or rain it seems like we've had in SoCal lately), but
hoping for a list of the "most wanted" protocol modules to be added. Much
of the time, despite my poor OSPF implementation 6 years ago,
